About So Social Collective

So Social Collective is a community and creative platform curating experiences that feel like home. We create space for people to meet, connect, and build real relationships.

A packed room of guests caught on flash, all smiles and peace signs

Why this exists

So Social Collective started because it is genuinely hard to meet people in your twenties, and because Calgary is full of small businesses that deserve a full room.

We host one social at a time: a live DJ, something worth eating, a local venue we love, and about a hundred people who mostly arrived alone. Founded by Prin and Maddy. Now also in Toronto.

A hosting practice, not an events company

  1. Come solo

Most of the room arrived on their own — that is the design, not the shortfall. Hosts meet you at the door, learn your name, and hand you the first conversation so you never have to stand at the edge working out where to stand.

Roughly a hundred people, most of them strangers

  2. One good room

An ice-cream parlour, a jazz basement, a boutique on 17th, a patio at breakfast, one yacht. The room is always a local business worth discovering, lent to us by people who work hard in it — and it stays open long after we leave.

    Location released with the ticket

  3. Leave with people

The point is not the party. It is the number in your phone the next morning, and the person you now get coffee with on an ordinary Tuesday.

Photos land about a week later
